Sam
The Sham
Memphis,
Tennessee - 1965: SAM THE SHAM AND THE PHARAOHS record "Wooly
Bully" and the rest is rock and roll history. Usually, a
new act who records a song that sells as many millions of records
worldwide as "Wooly Bully" did, rarely can duplicate
the feat. Well guess again! In February 1966, SAM THE SHAM stormed
the charts again with "Lil' Red Riding Hood." And the
world has not forgotten SAM THE SHAM since. Originally, hailing
from Texas, Sam moved to Memphis and was a nightclub performer.
In fact, because Sam knew so many tunes and did requests for anyone,
even if he didn't know the song, he got the nickname "The
Sham." Sam has toured the world and been number one in every
country in the free world. When Sam is on a concert stage and
the first three notes of "Lil' Red Riding Hood" are
played, the crowd goes wild and belts out the signature howl that
starts the tune. A showman of unique caliber, Sam's audiences
delight in his stage antics. A live performance of SAM THE SHAM
is a concert not to be missed. SAM THE SHAM is available for a
limited number of engagements each year.
