The Crystals

When Phil Spector discovered THE CRYSTALS, not one was yet out of high school. Their first recording was also their first hit catapulting them straight to the world famous Apollo Theater in New York. They continued their successful recordings with five more TOP TEN records including, HE'S A REBEL, DA DOO RON RON, and THEN HE KISSED ME. The group has scaled from five members to three presently, the others having left for family life. THE CRYSTALS now consist of Dee Dee Kenniebrew, who was there from the very first re­cord, Gretchen Gale and Marcella Matthews.

DOLORES "DEE DEE"' KENNIEBREW
Dee Dee started singing professionally at age 15 with THE CRYSTALS. Honing her craft, while working and watching such acts as "Jackie Wilson", "Sam Cooke", "Dionne Warwick", "The Commodores", and many others. Dee Dee studied with Gregory Hines, Patty Duke, and Bernadette Peters amongst other stars at a tender age.

GRETCHEN GALE
Gretchen, a Halle Berry look alike with a pleasing and ready smile is the daughter of famed Guitarist Eric Gale. Gretchen has also worked in off Broadway productions and is a quite ca­pable performer having studied voice at Spellman College.

MARCELLA MATTHEWS
Marcella began performing at the age of three. Marcella is trained in Opera, Jazz and Pop Vo­cal Styles. Marcella used her wide ranging abilities in the off Broadway Musicals "Mama I Want to Sing" and "Gee Whiz, God is". Marcella has also appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and "Live" with Regis and Kathy Lee.

The biggest thrill came to THE CRYSTALS when TV Producer Roger King asked them to perform at his birthday party at his private beach house, In the audience was Danny Aiello, Kirk Douglas, Gladys Knight and many other Celebrities. Roger came on stage to perform and dance along to their singing of "Da Doo Ron Ron", Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "I'll Be There", 'Hold on I'm Coming", "Rescue Me", "Dedicated to the One I Love", "Be My Baby", "Why do Fools Fall in Love", "He's a Rebel" and the rest of their hits. A good time was had by all.

THE CRYSTALS have a high energy show "that keeps them trim and fit" and their audiences asking for more and wondering "Can these really be THE CRYSTALS from way back then? Dee Dee says "yes we were and WE ARE."
