Bobby
Lewis
Bobby
Lewis, accomplished Master of Ceremonies and well-known performer
from Rock 'n Roll's Golden Age, is the quintessential entertainer.
It all started to happen for Bobby back in the early sixties when
he was touring with the Jackie Wilson and James Brown shows as
the master of Ceremonies. It was not long before Bobby Lewis had
his own smash hit in 1961 with "Tossin' and Turnin'".
It was a multi-million selling hit, having the distinction of
being the biggest selling hit of 1961 and named by Billboard Magazine
in 1976 as the 5th most popular and best-selling hit in Rock n'
Roll history. Bobby followed "Tossin' and Turnin'" with
another big hit "One Track Mind".
As Bobby's
great wit and emcee ability came to the surface, he could be found
performing many hits, in addition to this own, on the finest concerts
and shows from coast to coast. Bobby Lewis has performed on American
Bandstand and he was one of the acts included in Dick Clark's
Caravan of Stars. He has performed in New York at the Radio City
Music Hall and Fox Theater for Alan Freed, the disc jockey who
started it all by coining the expression "Rock n' Roll".
Bobby Lewis has appeared as opening act for Pat Boone, Nipsy Russell,
Red Fox, Bobby Darin and Chuck Berry. He has toured in Italy,
France, Holland, Germany, Great Britain and Canada.
Today Bobby
keeps a very active touring schedule and travels all over the
country. He is a solid entertainer and one who can liven up every
show. His warmth and talent make Bobby Lewis the type of performer
who can please even the most critical audiences.
